If you are the kind of impulse buyer who struggles with eating out a lot, then I identify with you! Spending money eating out is deceitfully expensive, and can really put holes in your budget that you didn’t have before. But at the same time, there are ways to put a stop to this kind of whole, and there are just three words that will help you – cook at home.
If you cook at home instead of eating out, you will spend FAR LESS money. In fact, you can cook at home for a week for what it costs to eat out at an expensive restaurant once or twice. The potential to save money here is virtually limitless, and you will be AMAZED at how much money you will have in your pocket if you can muster just a little bit of self discipline. However, for those of you who have trouble in this department, here are some tips that can help.

Cooking at Home and Save Money
First, only let yourself eat out maybe once per week, or say that one dinner and one lunch can be an eat-out meal. All of the rest need to be cooked at home.
If there are particular types of food that you are drawn to in restaurants (I have a SERIOUS weakness for Cashew chicken!), then try cooking these foods at home! You can often get good enough at cooking to actually make it like it is in the restaurant, and cooking at home can be fun and challenging! And you can even have friends over to admire your new cooking abilities – trust me, it is a lot cheaper to have friends over and cook for them than for you to pick up the tab at your local restaurant, and in this case, you also get complements on your cooking as a bonus!
Make cooking at home a fun, entertaining project. If you are a couple, have your significant other cook with you. Make it something that you do together. You can even go on special trips to the grocery store to keep your kitchen stocked with chicken, peppers, onions, and all kinds of ingredients. Cooking is a lot more fun when you have all of the ingredients!
