Our world seems to be a bit pre-occupied with what they can afford. Everyone gets a kick out of spending huge amounts of money on things that they don’t actually need, but that make them look wealthier than they really are. But there is also a lot of pressure to do this, which makes it hard to resist at times. For example, you might wish that you could afford to buy name-brand clothes like the rest of your friends but if you really have to put it all on a credit card, how are you really affording it?
I think that we need to think about what we are doing before we spend money on something because of peer pressure. Swiping your credit card for a big-screen tv might look good to our friends, but we are not going to feel good when the statement comes in and we need that money to pay rent!

Saving Money
You need to live within your means if you really want to be financially stable, but that is not a bad thing. If you make less than your friends, then it is just the natural order of things that determines you might not be able to afford the things that they can afford. Does this mean you are not important? No! it just means that you make less every week. There is nothing wrong with having to be careful about how you spend your money, in fact, you will enjoy life a lot more if you do not pile stress on yourself like this.
Also, there is something to be said for saving up and buying it with cash. Say, for example, that you want a new TV. Well, instead of charging it, put aside some extra money every week, and when you have saved up enough, go out and buy it. You might not be able to get yours when all of your friends are getting theirs, but saving up for it means that you have stayed within your means, and this means that you will feel SO good about it! It is an incredible feeling to buy something with money that you have worked hard for!
